Silicone Implant Safety

Silicone implant safety should be a discussion that an individual has with his or her doctor before having this particular type of surgical procedure. Silicone is a misunderstood product that may be in use in breast implants safely, in some situations. The largest problem with these implants is when the thick gel like substance moves from the breast implant out into the body. This rarely happens. One of the reasons it rarely happens is because the body will create a sack around the breast implant out of scar tissue after the implant is placed into the skin. This scar tissue works as a capsule to protect the implant and to keep the silicone in place even if it does rupture.
