SurgiCare, one of the world’s most prominent and popular cosmetic surgery providers just announced that it saw a 135 percent increase in the number of breast augmentations in the past year.  Critics have said that this is frivolous spending, given the current economic climate.  Women are spending their money on vanities, rather than necessities.  However, the surgeons and experts at SurgiCare offer explanations as to why breast augmentation has become increasingly popular.

Men who wish to become women can actually induce gynecomastia with breast enhancers, designed for women. Though some men have chosen to go with expensive implants, others seek the benefits of natural female enhancers. They may perform slower, but eventually they have identical effects.

You may hear many horror stories in the news and on television about breast augmentation surgeries going horribly wrong. Though rarely this does occur, research and development in the field of plastic surgery continues to advance. By looking at the history of breast augmentation, you can see just how far surgeons have come, since the invention of the technique.

Many women are disappointed with the look of their bodies after pregnancy. The stress of carrying a baby for nine months can cause parts to droop and sag. This leaves women looking older than they really are, and upset about the loss of their youth.

Many of these ladies turn to plastic surgery to reverse the effects of pregnancy. Tummy tucks and liposuction procedures give the patient her thin, athletic figure back. Also breast augmentation and lifts can put the patient’s breasts back where they belong.

A new surgical procedure, invented by doctors at the Indiana University plastic surgery group has been developed to combine two popular surgeries: the tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, and breast augmentation.

The surgeon performs a regular tummy tuck procedure, removing excess fat and skin from the abdominal wall. Then, this skin is used to create a flap that is transformed into a new breast. This surgery is also ideal for breast cancer survivors who have had a mastectomy and have been free from radiation therapy for over six months.

The New York Times recently found that some surgeons are withholding information from their female patients in need of breast reconstruction. They are recommending saline implants for women who have to undergo mastectomies because of breast cancer. These women often have negative results after recovery. However, this is because they are not aware of newer procedures that would be more time-consuming and costly for the surgeons.

Most women do not realize that a simple breast augmentation surgery will not fix drooping, sagging breasts caused by weight gain or pregnancies. Breast implants will make the breasts larger and fuller, but they may cause back problems if they are not adjusted and pushed up.

This causes the center of gravity to realign and makes the breasts have their youthful appearance. The procedure known as a mastopexy is a lift that surgeons can perform after implants to make the breasts more sexy and balanced.

It is becoming increasingly popular for parents to purchase breast augmentation surgeries for their daughters as gifts for graduation or eighteenth or even sixteenth birthdays. Many surgeons will do these procedures, but still more will warn against the dangers of doing augmentation surgeries too early.

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, many boyfriends and husbands are searching for the best present for their sweethearts. Many may want to offer their significant others the gift of a flawless body. However, surgeons and other women recommend that men discuss this gift with their wives or girlfriends.

At the last American Society of Plastic Surgeons annual convention in Chicago, a unique study found that 99 percent of the women who had their breast surgeries would do so again.
